Eat Well, Do Good
The Caring Foundation and The Felix Project
During this prolonged lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, our thoughts continue to go out to everyone who has been impacted one way or another. We are aware there is still much support needed across our communities, hence we are thrilled to announce our collaboration and partnership with The Caring Foundation and The Felix Project. We will be joining forces to support those who need our help the most at this most critical juncture in our lifetime.
The Caring Foundation has brought together teams from their wider hospitality network to help the most vulnerable members of our society. Their chefs are cooking thousands of meals each week, distributing via The Felix Project, whose mission is to fight food waste and help feed communities across London. . Reach Food Service has made direct donations to support both organisations and will also donate £1 from every order placed on REACHmykitchen.com to The Felix Project. Our mission is simple yet important: we strive to make a small difference in the lives of those most in need.
Hospitality Action offers assistance to those who work or have worked within the hospitality sector across the UK. During the outbreak, most restaurants had been closed and many workers are still at risk of a pay cut or forced redundancies. A direct donation to Hospitality Action has already been made and we will make further contributions of £1 for each order placed on REACHmykitchen.com to Hospitality Action until the end of 2020.
Our CEO, Abbas Lalljee and his family, have been supporting Cancer Research UK for a several years. Through his support, Reach Food Service has recently become a sponsor in supporting THINK PINK BALL, which donates 100% of the funds raised to cancer charities.
Action Against Hunger
Action Against Hunger's primary goal is to create a better way to deal with hunger. They have led the global movement that aims to end life-threatening hunger. We were very proud to support a recent fundraising event by trekking through the Jordan Rift Valley to the ancient city of Petra.
SOFEA in partnership with Fareshare
SOFEA has partnered up with Fareshare, and running their operations in the Thames Valley area. A charity based in Oxfordshire, SOFEA provides surplus food to 200 local organisations, and offers training, education, and employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people along the way. Reach Food Service provides food donation directly to SOFEA.
CEO Sleep Out
CEO Sleepout is a charity set up to fight homelessness and poverty. Their work is funded by big hearted business and community leaders who pledge to sleep outdoors for one night and raise awareness and sponsorship from their business contacts and friends. Our CEO, Abbas Lalljee, participated in sleeping outdoor to support this great cause.
